Swallows confirm Niang trials
Moroka Swallows General Manager Sipho Xulu has confirmed that striker Mame Niang will be jetting out of the country soon to attend trials in Germany.
This comes after reports emanating from Germany that the lanky Senegalese striker would be attending trials at Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld.
"Yes, I can confirm that Niang will be going for trials in Germany, but I don't want to reveal anything until all the paper work is in place," Xulu told the official Swallows website on Thursday.
He added: "The club would like to wish Niang the best of luck in Germany. We hope everything goes well for him.
"Niang has done well for us during his stay here, but we will not stand in his way if he succeeds in Germany. He is a very good player and any team would be lucky to have him."
Meanwhile, the second-placed 'Birds' will be looking to consolidate their position on the Castle Premiership standings when they take on Santos in a PSL league match at Athlone Stadium on Friday night at 8pm.
A victory for the 'Beautiful Birds' would take them closer to fulfilling their dream of playing in next season's CAF Champions League.
But Swallows are facing a wounded Santos team, which was knocked out of the Absa Cup by neighbours Ajax Cape Town just last week.
'The People's Team' will be looking to redeem themselves by beating the 'Birds', adding even more spice to what should be a mouth-watering Premiership encounter.
