'Birds' continue winning form
Moroka Swallows continued their winning form when they edged AmaZulu 3-2 scoreline in a pulsating Absa Premiership match at the Germiston Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Tseu Mokoro, James Chamanga and James Mayinga (pictured) all got on the score-sheet for Swallows with Innocent Mkhwanazi scoring the two goals for AmaZulu.
The 'Birds' got to off to a flying start when Mokoro played a quick one-two with Japhet Zwanea to get himself into the box and blast the ball into the roof of the net to put Swallows into the lead in the fourth minute.
AmaZulu equalised in the 19th minute, but the 'Birds' were soon in the lead again six minutes later when the red-hot James Chamanga turned two defenders outside the box before blasting through the AmaZulu defence into the back of the net.
Swallows steadied themselves and held on to the 2-1 lead at half-time.
AmaZulu struck first in the second half when Mkhwanazi's miscued cross flew over Greg Etafia in the Swallows goals.
However the free-scoring 'Birds' were determined to claim the home victory in this encounter, as they immediately went on the attack.
Swallows defender James Mayinga went on the overlap to assist in the attack only to find himself in the box with the goal in sight, he played a neat one-two with Sandile Ndlovu and blasted the ball to give Swallows victory.
The 'Beautiful Birds' now move up to a favourable fourth position on the Premiership log standings courtesy of this win.
