Young 'Birds' to fly over Benoni

Moroka Swallows will be using today's Reserve League match against Benoni Premier United as preparation for the upcoming Under-19 Bayhill Cup tournament in Cape Town.

The game is scheduled to be played at Germiston Stadium at 4pm.

"We will be using our Under-19s in today's match against Benoni and no players from the senior squad will be called upon," Swallows' Head of Development Paul Habib told the Swallows official website.

Just like years before, Swallows' Under-19s will be participating in the annual Bayhill tournament which kicks-off on Thursday, April 5.

"Our U19 team will be leaving for Cape Town on April 3. Look, one needs a proper exercise before a tournament like this one, hence we have decided to use the Reserve League matches to prepare our team.

"We know that we have not been doing well in the Reserve League so far, but I'm confident that our Under-19s will do well for us, starting with the Benoni match.

"These players are one step away from the senior team and they will want to do well, especially because they will be guided by our first team coach Gavin Hunt," Habib added.
