'Birds' to fight for second spot
Moroka Swallows will be looking to consolidate their lofty position on the Castle Premiership log when they take on a resurgent AmaZulu at Loftus Stadium on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 3pm).
The 'Birds' were unlucky not to beat Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs in their last match, whilst 'Usuthu' are on a high after their 3-1 victory over Benoni Premier United last time out.
And Swallows defender Bevan Fransman, for one, is looking forward to a mouth-watering encounter against AmaZulu.
"This is going to be a tough match because both of us are looking for the three points that will be on offer on the day," Fransman told the official Swallows website.
He added: "AmaZulu are trying hard to avoid relegation and the three points will go a long way in helping them avoid the drop.
"We, on the hand, want to finish the season on second position, so that we can play in the African Champions League next season. As the home team, we need to take the game to AmaZulu from the word go and we need to finish to finish the chances that will come our way."
Swallows will be without Mark Haskins and Japhet Zwane, both of whom are currently serving suspensions.
"We are going to miss these guys because they are both enjoying a good run of form. But I'm confident that the players who will replace them will do the job for us," continued Fransman.
Good news for the 'Beautiful Birds' is that both Tsweu Mokoro and Thulani Ngcephe are fit to play after recovering from their respective injuries.
