'Birds' sign three young stars

Moroka Swallows continue to bolster their squad ahead of the second half of the 2007/08 Absa Premiership season, with the 'Beautiful Birds' adding three players since the January transfer window opened.

After signing Maimane Phiri from SuperSport United, the 'Dube Birds' also drafted in Siphamandla Vilakazi (19 years) from the Moroka Swallows Development Academy, Siphesihle Ngobese (24 years) from Bloemfontein Celtic and Ajax Cape Town's Brent Geyer (22 years).

Commenting after the latest signing, a thrilled Swallows General Manager Sipho Xulu said Swallows were grateful to have signed the three young players.

"Our intentions are to fight for honours this season and signing players of this magnitude augurs well for Moroka Swallows Football Club," Xulu told the official Swallows website.

He added: "Our aim is to build a formidable side that will dominate local football in 2010. Promoting youngsters from our development academy shows that we have very good development structures.

"Ngobese and Geyer have played in the PSL before so they know what it's like and what it takes to be successful in the league."

Xulu appealed to Swallows supporters to give the new players time to settle down and to establish themselves at the club.

Bevan is staying in the nest! Your views?

Great news - we can continue to build around him!
Wonderful, but there is too much pressure on him.
It doesn't matter, as I was already resigned to losing him...
