Chamanga goals helps Zambia home

Moroka Swallows' James Chamanga scored a goal as Zambia recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory over a spirited Sudan outfit in their Group C Africa Cup of Nations clash on Tuesday night.

Zambia took an early lead through Chamanga's effort after just two minutes of play at the Baba Yara Stadium and added a second score five minutes after the half-time break through Jacob Mulenga.

Felix Katongo further punished Sudan when he tapped in 'The Chipolopolo's third goal in the 59th minute.

Zambia top Group C after the 4-2 win posted by Egypt over four-time champions Cameroon earlier in the day.

Meanwhile, Bafana Bafana - with Moroka Swallows defender Beven Fransman in tow - will play their first match at AFCON 2008 on Wednesday evening.

The South Africans, under the tutelage of Brazilian veteran Carlos Alberto Parreira, will come up against Angola in Group D action at the Tamale Stadium (kick-off 9.30pm).

Bevan is staying in the nest! Your views?

Great news - we can continue to build around him!
Wonderful, but there is too much pressure on him.
It doesn't matter, as I was already resigned to losing him...
