Bevan leaves the 'Birds' nest

Moroka Swallows are sad to announce that star defender Bevan Fransman, who is presently on AFCON duty with Bafana Bafana in Ghana, will be leaving the 'Dube Birds' for a club in Israel.

Breaking the news to morokaswallows.co.za, a visibly pained Swallows CEO Leon Prins said the club did everything in its power to convince the player to stay with the 'Beautiful Birds', "But his agent advised him to exercise the buy-out clause in his contract, and I am very disappointed at how his agent handled the affair".

"We are very upset because Bevan is leaving us at a crucial time when we are doing everything in our power to win the league this season," added Prins. "He was part of a squad that we are busy building to win championships and cup tournaments!

Prins continued: "Bevan is one of our best players and losing him will surely leave a huge void at the centre of our defence. We will try to find a replacement for him, but it will be difficult to find a player like him."

Fransman will join fellow top players Thembinkosi Fanteni and Tshepo Masilela, who are all plying their trade in Israel.
