'Injury Time with Dr E' - 26/04/07
After last week's news surrounding Tebogo Monyai's serious leg injury, things are pretty calm in the 'Beautiful Birds' nest this week, reports Moroka Swallows team doctor, Dr Humbulani Ephraim Nematswerani.
Patrick Mabedi is the latest addition to the 'doubtful list' with a mild groin strain, but Jacob Mokhasi has recovered from his right ankle sprain.
The latest Swallows medical report is as follows:
1. Patrick Mabedi:
Diagnosis: Mild groin strain.
Opinion: Doubtful for this weekend.
2. Jacob Mokhasi:
Diagnosis: Right tibia contusion (knock). Right ankle sprain.
Opinion: Fully recovered. Has been training for the past week without any ill-effects.
Available for this weekend.
3. Mohamed Ouseb:
4. Bjorn Gugger:
Diagnosis: Degenerative changes in left knee following lateral menisectomy 3-4 years ago.
Operation: Done on January 22.
Expected recovery date: Has started individual training exercises.
5. Goodman Mazibuko:
Diagnosis: Left groin strain.
Treatment: Conservative management; responded well to treatment.
Opinion: Still undergoing treatment.
Out for this weekend.
6. Tebogo Monyai:
Injured right leg on January 28.
Diagnosis: Fracture mid-tibia. Operation done on January 30.
Operations for the right knee and left groin were done on April 16.
Expected recovery date: August 2007.
