Swallows unbeaten in Botswana
Moroka Swallows enjoyed a fruitful trip to Botswana at the weekend, winning both their matches at Gaborone's National Stadium.
The 'Beautiful Birds' played against the Mochudi Centre Chiefs on Friday night and the Extension Gunners on Saturday, winning both games.
Swallows beat Chiefs 1-0, before beating Gunners 4-1 the following day.
"It was a great trip and we were very impressed with the support we had in Gaborone," said Swallows General Manager Sipho Xulu to the club's official website on Monday.
"Our aim was to win the tournament, and even though the format changed, we still won both our matches and we were able to give all the guys - including the new signings - a good run-around."
The four-man event - which also involved fellow PSL team, Jomo Cosmos - saw both SA teams play once each against the local teams. There was, thus, no tournament winner in the end, but Swallows were happy with their unbeaten record.
* Jomo Cosmos, meanwhile, beat Gunners 4-1 on Friday, but lost to Chiefs 0-1 on Saturday.
