'Birds' Reserves lose to Wits

Moroka Swallows' Reserve team lost 1-2 to the BidVest Wits Reserves in a Reserve League match at the Greek Club, Linksfield, on Monday afternoon.

Swallows head coach Gavin Hunt, who was once again in charge of the 'Birds' in the continued absence of Daniel 'Vader' Mophosho, was disappointed with the result.

"It was a poor performance all round," Hunt told the official Swallows website on Tuesday. "The refereeing was very poor and the match was disappointing.

"I used players from the Development ranks before, from which we recognised six with the potential of integrating them into the first team next season.

He concluded: "[But] it makes it difficult to motivate players for these matches. There needs to be more professionalism in the Reserve League."

The 'Birds' Reserves next face the Kaizer Chiefs Reserves at Eldorado Stadium on Thursday, April 12 at 4pm.
