Swallows in Macufe Cup

Moroka Swallows will join Free State rivals, Bloemfontein Celtic and Free Stars, and Jomo Cosmos in this year's Macufe tournament in Bloemfontein on Sunday.

Swallows and Cosmos will replace Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates who pulled out of the cultural showpiece, citing fixture congestion as the main reason behind their withdrawals.

However, the organisers moved quickly to replace these two teams by inviting Cosmos and Swallows to join Celtic and Stars in the four-team, one-day tournament.

The one-day tournament, which forms part of the annual Mangaung cultural festival, will take place in Bloemfontein on Sunday, October 7.
