Mayoyo - 'Birds will fly again!'
Moroka Swallows assistant coach Innocent 'Ayobayo' Mayoyo is confident that the 'Beautiful Birds' will bounce back to winning ways when they host Platinum Stars in an Absa Premiership match on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 3.30pm).
"When Ian and I took over the coaching reins at Swallows we knew there would come a time when the team would go through a bad slump like the one we are going through right now," Mayoyo told the official Swallows website.
He added: "After the Cosmos loss we sat down with the players and addressed our mistakes. I feel sorry for Stars because they will be facing a different Swallows side come Sunday."
Good news for the 'Beautiful Birds' is that 'keeper Greg Etafia has recovered from his injury and his return will surely bolster the 'Beautiful Birds' rearguard.
"We are glad that he is back, but Aubrey (Mathibe) has done reasonably well during his absence, therefore it will be a toss up between the two goalkeepers as to who will be in charge of goals on Sunday," said Mayoyo. "[But] this is a good headache for us to have, as we now have two good goalkeepers to choose from again."
Mayoyo, meanwhile, also urged the 'Dube Birds' fans to be patient with their team during these trying times.
"We have now given everyone a chance to prove themselves; now we have a clear view of who is suited for which position. It is a matter of putting the puzzle together," concluded Mayoyo.
