'Birds' Reserves hope to bounce back

Moroka Swallows Reserves will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they take on Benoni Premier United in a Reserve League match at Actonville Stadium on Monday.

Fresh from their 1-3 loss to Jomo Cosmos last Monday, the 'Beautiful Birds' will want to make amends against the 'Rabbits', who are also low on morale following their 0-1 loss to BidVest Wits.

With the Swallows senior team inactive this past weekend because of the Absa Cup semi-finals, coach Gavin Hunt is expected to field regular first-team players to give them game-time ahead of Saturday's Castle Premiership clash against Santos.

Swallows are currently lying seventh in an eight-team Reserve log, having won only two, drawn one and lost seven of their ten matches played so far.

But unlike other teams like Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, the 'Birds' have been using mainly their development players in the reserve league.
